Families are invited to stop by the Career Center to learn about student services provided and to enjoy light refreshments. Staff will be available at both the main center and Sylvester Jones Resource Center

Family Weekend Check In

All registered Family Weekend participants should check in to pick up their packets. Packets include the "Guide to Family Weekend" featuring a schedule of events,ticket and other goodies!

Social Work Open House and Reception

Family members are invited to tour Little Hall and meet social work students, staff and faculty. Accomplishments of Social Work students will be featured in video and poster presentations.

Families Helping Families: A Service Opportunity in the Tuscaloosa Community

Parents and students are invited to participate with the Community Service Center in an effort to help with tornado recovery efforts in Tuscaloosa. This project will allow families to help rebuild the city that is a home away from home for their students. The project will allow families to interact with one another while getting to know more about the community their students have joined.

President's Mansion Open House

Families are invited to tour the President's Mansion. The mansion was built between 1839 and 1841. According to tradition, Louisa Frances Garland, wife of President Landon C. Garland, valiantly saved the stately residence from destruction when Union troops destroyed the campus on April 4, 1865.

College of Communication and Information Sciences Family Weekend Reception

The College of Communication and Information Sciences welcomes families to a reception honoring the college community and its commitment to teaching, service and research. Families will also be invited to tour the Reese Phifer building.

Capstone international Center Tailgate

The Capstone International Center will host a meet and greet event for the center's staff and exchange students to interact with students and their families. The Capstone International Center includes International Programs, International Services and the English Language Institute (ELI). All Family Weekend guests are invited to stop by to speak with study abroad advisors and former study aborad participants about their international experiences. Exchange students will also be displaying belongings from their home countries and sharing stories regarding their native cultures and customs.

University Recreation Open House
Families are invited to tour the facilities and utilize the Student Recreation Center. Information regarding programs and services will be available.

The College of Arts and Sciences: Discover our Departments

Parents and students are invited to meet, greet and eat light snacks with various representatives from across the Departments in the College of Arts and Sciences.

Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration Dean’s Reception

Parents and students are welcome to stop by and visit with members of the C&BA, Undergraduate Student Services Staff, faculty members and the Dean. Staff will be available to answer questions and meet the families of their students.

Families are invited to meet and talk with staff and students involved with Student Involvement and Leadership and the Community Service Center.

The McLure Library

The McLure Library will host an event for families and friends with children. The event will offer story telling and crafts and refreshments will be served.

Rolling on the River with the Tide- ALL RIVER BOAT CRUISES ARE SOLD OUT

Big Al and the Alabama cheerleaders will join parents and guests on a river boat cruise down the Black Warrior River. All proceeds will benefit the Tuscaloosa County Alumni Chapter Scholarship Fund and tickets must be purchased in advance separately from the Family Weekend Package.

Beach Bash (For Guests with Family Weekend Package Purchases Only)

Families will experience an evening at a tropical beach...here in Tuscaloosa! The pool side night will include great music, food and giveaways to help kick-off the weekend.

Family Weekend Tailgate (For Guests with Family Weekend Package Purchases or Pre-Purchased Tailgate Passes Only)

Before the football game against North Texas join the Office of Parent Programs for food, fun and Alabama pride! All guests, including UA students, must have a ticket to enter.

Location: Presidential Park (Between Bryant-Denny Stadium and the Ten Hoor Parking Deck)

Walk of Champions

The Walk of Champions begins approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes prior to kick off. The Crimson Tide football team will be dropped off on the North side of the stadium on University Boulevard to proceed through the Walk of Champions and into the stadium. Families can cheer on the team as the get ready for the game!

Elephant Stomp

The Elephant Stomp is an exciting Game Day tradition at UA. Approximately 1.5 hours before kick off the Million Dollar Band and drum line will mount the steps of the Gorgas Library on the Quad for a pep rally that marches into the stadium. It is important to note that there will be certain areas blocked off near Denny Chimes and the steps of the library to allow the band to assemble and practice. Families and guests are asked to be considerate of the roped off areas.

Come watch the Crimson Tide take on the North Texas Mean Green in our newly renovated Bryant Denny Stadium. Family Weekend football tickets for this game are sold out.

UA Women's Soccer: International Day and Family Fun Day

Free admission, free parking, family activities and The Holy Spirit Youth Dance Troupe! Come support the Women's Alabama Soccer team has a home game against Morehead State.

Bama Belle

Gorgas House
The Gorgas House was the first structure to be built on the University of Alabama campus and stands as an excellent example of Low Country architecture. The Gorgas House is one of only four buildings on campus to survive the Civil War and the only one designed by renowned architect William Nichols. The residence is now a house museum with collections of antiques and Gorgas family memorabilia.

Sarah Moody Gallery of Art
The gallery’s Permanent Collection primarily features contemporary art that is executed as works on paper and includes drawings, prints and photographs. Each year there are gifts and acquisitions to our collection which enrich our holdings of contemporary art.
Hours: Monday through Friday from 9:00 – 4:30 PM. Thursday evening hours are 5:00 – 8:00 PM.
